Want Private Obedience Training Classes in your home? See Private Sessions Page

All classes are geared to increasing your dog’s understanding of skills in a motivational manner.  Class size is limited for optimal learning.  There will always be a demo dog to show you how to get started, and we will always work on challenging you and your dog.  Currently offering Basic Obedience, Intermediate Obedience, and AKC Canine Good Citizen. (Tonganoxie and Bonner Springs locations are only Basic Obedience right now)

For all classes, dogs need to be current on all vaccinations including Bordetella, not dog or people aggressive, and handled by someone at least 12 years of age or older.

Basic Obedience

Your dog needs to be 4 months of age or older.  The class meets for 7 weeks, week 1 without your dog.  Class length is 1 hour.  Some areas covered include: sit, down, stay, come, heeling, as well as working with distractions, socialization, plus problem-solving.  Class will be taught on-leash.

Leavenworth, Riverfront Community Center: $70

Saturday afternoons: Time: 12:10 pm-12:55 pm

AKC Canine Good Citizen

Pre-Req: Must have taken Basic Obedience class and/or have a good controlled walk and reliable knowledge of the skills sit, down, come, and stay.

The Canine Good Citizen (CGC) class prepares students to take the CGC test, which will be offered at the end of the session.  The program is run exclusively through the AKC and is setting the standard for well mannered dogs.  The class will cover all the skills needed to potentially pass the test including basic obedience, reactions to strangers and other dogs, supervised separation, etc.  Passing the 10 part CGC test shows that your dog is well rounded, listens, is trained, and would be a welcome addition to the community.  Many insurance companies and landlords take into account if a dog has passed CGC, and this would also be a good class if you are interested in therapy work with your dog.  There is no guarantee that your dog will pass the test after taking the class but will learn the necessary skills
